As I have said, I tend to produce most of my work on a made to order basis. Working this way I can be sure the customer gets exactly what they want and for the same working time as a similar stock item. The only drawback to this is that I cannot be sure when the commission will be ready as I may have to order wood for it and then find time to actually turn the piece. How long it will take will depend on how busy I am and whether I already have other orders waiting, but I will always try to give an accurate estimate.

I take commissions for bowls, platters, boxes, goblets, vases, mushrooms, eggs, hollow forms, natural edge pieces and any other similar items you may want. Examples of these can all be seen in the gallery section, however these are just examples and the number of variations on these are huge. Pieces can be either practical or decorative and designs can be to the customer’s own specification or one of my own.

Wood choice is another aspect which needs to be decided. Woods available are many and varied but I prefer to use native hardwoods as they are easier to work with, cheaper and more available than exotics. However, a good selection of exotic hardwoods are also available if that is what you would prefer. These tend to be a little bit more expensive as they are imported from renewable plantations overseas.

If you are interested in commissioning a piece of work please feel free to contact me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
